Among the initiatives of the Joseph Skakun Project is the production of a documentary and feature film. Joseph Skakun’s wartime ordeal lends itself to a variety of cinematic interpretations.
A 60-90 minute documentary based on the complex weave of Joseph Skakun’s unique survival story will explore the pluck, stamina, intelligence, derring-do and sheer luck required to outlive genocide.
It will examine, as well, the multicultural world in which the protagonist came of age, and the coat of many colors he stitched together in a time of dire straits.
